The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation presented its 2010 Access to Learning Award of $1 million to the Veria Central Public Library for its creative use of information and technology services to meet the economic, educational, and cultural needs of more than 180,000 people.

In April 2010 project "Libraries for Innovation" and Lithuanian public libraries invited their users to contribute to the initiative "History of the Revival". The aim of this initiative was to publish memories, stories and photos of the 1988-1989 events in Lithuanian cities and towns from regular citizen point of view.

It turns out talking about gardening is an excellent way to attract visitors to public libraries. This is what our collagues in Lithuania found out recently through experience.
