Ms. Siri Oswald, Program Officer at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, visited Bulgaria on 23 – 25 April 2012. During her visit, Ms. Oswald met the program team and key partners to discuss the ongoing work on the program and its future development.
In relation to program reporting to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the need of up-to-date information about the usability of computers at target libraries, a bid process was conducted for development, testing, installation and support of workstation monitoring software.

On 22 – 23 March 2012, a two-day conference organized by the Ministry of Health took place at Rodina Hotel in Sofia. The conference was attended by representatives of the Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program Management Unit (PMU) and 20 target libraries from across the country.
The conference presented the results of the Informed and Healthy information campaigns conducted by the Ministry of Health and outlined future activities and their implementation timeline.
19 and 20 March 2012 will see the launch of the trainings for librarians from the spring-summer training period under Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program.

On 31 January 2012, the installation of computers and peripherals in Stage 2011 target libraries was finalized. A total of 960 public libraries across the country have ICT equipment for citizens provided under Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria.
155 target libraries were included in the third phase of ICT equipment delivery and installation under the program: another 530 desktop computers, 530 monitors, 1 laptop, 155 multifunctional devices, 149 multimedia projectors and 310 network equipment units are ready to be used.

On 1 February 2012 the Glob@l Libraries - Bulgaria Program Board approved a Program for Training of Librarians 2012 – 2013. The document is an update of the approved and implemented in 2011 Program 2011-2013.
In January 2012, Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria and Ministry of Health (MH) representatives identified cooperation opportunities for public libraries and Regional Health Inspection Offices.
Mr. Robin Knowles, Director, and Ms. Mieke Barbé, Project Manager, at the Brussels-based NGO Civic Agenda paid a visit to Bulgaria on 27–28 February 2012. During their visit, they met representatives of the PMU and the program partners and learned about the program’s achievements to date.
