On 30 October 2012, during the National Forum held in Sofia, the “Glob@l Libraries - Bulgaria: a Point to e-Inclusion” Competition awards were presented. The event was broadcast live online. Below is a list of the award winning libraries selected out of a total of 195 applications submitted by 126 libraries from across the country.
e-Employment category awards:

First prize winner: Library at Zarya 1902 Public Chitalishte, village of Vakarel, Sofia district, which helped more than 123 land owners lease their land, thereby increasing their annual income.

Second prize winner: Petar Stapov District Library, Targovishte, for the organized e-employment brokerage service.

Two third prizes were awarded in this category: to the Library at Probuda 1902 Public Chitalishte, village of Balanovo, Kyustendil district, for the great variety of activities helping villagers find jobs or financing as agricultural producers; the other third prize was awarded to the Library at Prosveta 1942 Public Chitalishte, village of Lyaskovo, Smolyan district, for the provided active job finding assistance and information about the natural riches of the Rhodope Mountains which also helped local community members supplement their income through herb and mushroom picking and processing jobs.
e-Culture category awards:

First prize winner: Paisii Hilendarski Municipal Library, Samokov, for the involvement of a group of children and young people in the preservation of the information about local cultural heritage. The group became acquainted with the old houses in Samokov, fed the information about them in the library’s full-text database and made a movie available on YouTube.

Second prize winner: Paisii Hilendarski City Library, Asenovgrad, which impressed the competition committee with its meetings with children on a diversity of topics.

Third prize winner: Library at Iliya Beshkov 1899 Public Chitalishte, Dolni Dabnik, Pleven district, which works actively with young people and thanks to which two young Roma people aged 20 and 23 learned to read and write.

Two encouragement prizes were awarded in this category. The first went to the Library at Prosveta Public Chitalishte, Marten, Ruse district, for the established Young Patriot Club collecting information about Ruse’s past. The second encouragement prize was awarded to the Library at Zora 1990 Public Chitalishte, village of Pobeda, Pleven district. The library in the village of Pobeda helps the local community build their family trees.
e-Skills category awards:

First prize winner: Library at Selska Probuda 1896 Public Chitalishte, village of Gradina, Plovdiv district, for the successfully conducted computer skills training of citizens thanks to which 7 out of 9 people trained in filling in electronic CV forms were hired and a lady was saved from dismissal due to her newly acquired skills at the library.

Second prize winner: Library at P. R. Slaveykov 1925 Public Chitalishte, village of Veslets, Razgrad district, for the conducted ICT skills training of school goers.

Two third prizes were awarded: the first went to the Library at Saznanie Public Chitalishte, village of Parvenets, Plovdiv district, for the computer skills training of children and adults conducted as a result of the library’s successful partnership with the local school. The second third prize was awarded to the Library at Probuda Public Chitalishte, village of Nikolovo, Ruse district, for the conducted 28 basic computer skills training courses for 170 people.
e-Access category awards:

First prize winner: Library at Prosveta Public Chitalishte, Zlatograd, Smolyan district, which provides e-access to the children and young people from Zora Day Center and the users of the Public Support Center in Zlatograd. Most impressive is the story of Denis, a boy who cannot talk but never spends a day without visiting the library.

Second prize winner: Lyuben Karavelov District Library, Ruse, for their project “I CAN: CAPABLE, TRAINED, PROUD, ACTIVE” for training people with disabilities (physical, vision, hearing and mental) in basic computer skills and provision of access to e-information and resources.

Third prize winner: Peyo Yavorov District Library, Burgas, for the provision of e-access and e-services to people with oncological diseases.

Encouragement prize: Yordan Radichkov Library at Ivan Vazov 1872 Public Chitalishte, Berkovitsa, Montana district, for the provided e-access to disabled people, people with diabetes and pensioners.
Dignified Aging with New Technology category awards:

First prize winner: Library at Hristo Botev 1919 Public Chitalishte, village of Dolno Kamartsi, Sofia district for the support provided by the library to its senior users’ active life through computer literacy courses and health initiatives, e.g. an endocrinologist and a cardiologist performed medical examinations at the library of all the people who needed it.

Second prize winner: Library at Sluntse 1879 Public Chitalishte, Ihtiman, Sofia district, for their initiative “Active throughout Their Lives” which included ICT training for senior people and a series of events including multimedia presentations and was implemented in partnership with local pensioner’s clubs and Ihtiman Municipality.

Third prize winner: Library at Slunchev Luch 1902 Public Chitalishte, village of Ostrovche, Razgrad district, for their computer training of senior people.
Two encouragement prizes were awarded in this category: the first went to the Library at Saznanie 1927 Public Chitalishte, village of Dolni Vadin, Vratsa district, for their computer skills training and the compilation of an information guide for user friendly access to information including guidelines for online search of administrative services, NGOs, social networks, health related information, alternative medicine, etc.; the second encouragement prize was awarded to the Library at Svetlina Public Chitalishte, village of Galabovo, Smolyan district for its initiative “Helping Senior People” where school goers from the village train senior library users in working with computers and the internet.
