Communication Training

Natalia Georgieva, PR Specialist and Stanimir Kiskinov, Advocacy and Fundraising Specialist in the Glob@l Libraries - Bulgaria Program returned from a training in communication, which took place from 21 to 23 October in New York. Representatives of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation-funded projects from around the world participated in the training. The main focus areas of the event were the intransient value of the personalized story in public communication; the ability to present the organization's resume in a brief 30-second speech; tactical approaches for dialogue in the face of opposition or apathy, and an efficient scheme for elaborating "step by step" communication plans by answering a specific sequence of questions. The information shared by leading speakers and media experts will help in extending the Program's communication strategy and in the process of training target libraries' representatives in Bulgaria.
