The P. Hilendarski City Library in Asenovgrad is among the 27 libraries in the Plovdiv district which are proposed for inclusion in the program. The signing of a memorandum of understanding in Asenovgrad is third for the region after the ones in Karlovo and Stamboliyski.

One of the main objectives of the program is to provide equal access for all citizens to information and communication services. In this regard, the computers will be available for the library staff and citizens alike. The program also envisages training of library experts. The municipalities have to ensure premises in libraries with good conditions for working and with Internet access.
