2013 “Workshop for Young Librarians’ Ideas” Competition

The Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program announces a competition for participation in the “Workshop for Young Librarians’ Ideas”.
The idea workshop aims to:

  • enhance young librarians’ knowledge, skills and initiatives
  • identify and highlight ideas of new library services and activities, previously unavailable in local communities
  • motivate young librarians to work actively for the sustainability of the GLB program.

The Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program will organize two three-day workshops in 2013. Up to 50 participants will be selected to take part in each workshop. Guest speakers will include representatives of other European countries participating in the Global Libraries Initiative (Poland, Romania, Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine).
The first workshop will take place on 10–12 April 2013. It is open to librarians from all public libraries in Bulgaria who meet the following requirements:

  • up to 35 years of age
  • cognizant of the key objectives, activities and achievements of the Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program
  • have a concept or project for development of innovative library services.

If you meet the above requirements and want to share and improve your innovative ideas, please fill in the Application Form and send it (signed and scanned) to: not later than 17.30 on Wednesday, 27 March 2013.
Approved applicants will be informed via the email specified in the Application Form by 17.30 on Monday, 1 April 2013. An invitation for participation and the agenda of the event will be sent to all selected participants by 17.30 on Friday, 5 April 2013.
