Following the roll-out of the active work on the development of new e-education services in the GLB target libraries, on 23 – 24 July 2013, the Glob@l Libraries – Bulgaria Program office in Sofia hosted a work meeting of Program Management Unit representatives, the GLB e-Education Consultant and 12 librarians from across the country who had stated their interest in the e-education topic.
The meeting discussed good e-education practices and the GLB Program’s vision on the development of new library services in this area. The librarians were introduced to: the program’s general vision on new services and e-education; the way in which this topic will find its place in the advanced training of librarians conducted under the program; the method for assessing the impact of these new services on local communities and their presentation online, including on the GLB web portal. On their part, librarians discussed their ideas and opinions on the development of new e-education services to be developed and provided by GLB target libraries. Based on meeting participants’ feedback, services will be developed in such a manner as to ensure maximum relevance, value and accessibility for their users.
